Section # 28 St. Paul's Bay
Hereunder I drew a free hand sketch of the map of St. Paul's Bay. This bay is situated to the north of Malta and it is facing the North East. On each side there is another bay . The one on the left side which is much wider is the famous Mellieha Bay or as it is known Ghadira (not show on the map). The one on the right which is smaller and can be seen on the map below, is Salina Bay.
My intention is to show my readers, several places mentioned in my stories. I did not use a proper map so to be able to point out the places which are of personal interest to me and my wife through more than half a century of our relation. This bay was the place where we met, where we passed the happiest days in our life when we were courting. In this bay we still go swimming, go diving, go boating, go fishing and spend long hours sun bathing. In its surrounding areas we go for long walks, we organize picnics with our children and our grandchildren and we lived in several houses which we used as our summer residence. Some day we really wish to be able to spend the rest of our lives here all year round, even because most of our children live here and love this place as much as we do.
So in today's Gallery I am taking you on a trip round the bay starting from Qawra Point to the right of the map, and ending on St. Paul's Island. Are you ready.....so let's go.................
(You can check the photos referring to the map)

It was on this rocky beach that I meet my wife. Wignacourt Tower in the background.
The street above the rocky beach in the previous photo. Modernized a year ago.
Tal-Ghazzenin cove. We moor our boats here in summer.
"Our Island" those who follow my blog will understand.
We call this concrete ground is-Simenta. It is winter, so no boats. See our island far away.
The Simenta in summer. here we often come with our friend to have a drink in the evening.
Now we are going further in the bay, This small bay is called tax-Xama
This stretch is very picturesque yet it is not easily accessible.
We call this "Barracuda Cave" because nearby there is a water polo club named Barracudas.
The jetty at Veccia, a shelter for boats.
The inner most part of the bay in Pwales valley. It is also called Xemxija.
Now we are going to the other side of the bay........everywhere it is full of boats.
A little further up this side of the bay is a small cove called 'Fekruna'.
As we pass Fekruna there are some cliffs and the shore is full of boulders which fall from above.
Selmun Ridge. You can see Selmun Castle at the top.
Then we come to another nice bay called Mistra
Yet another inlet with sandy seabed. This is calle 'Irdum il-Bies'.
Then we arrive at St. Paul's Island. From far away it seems that there are two islands but it is just one.
The big statue dominates this bare Island. A small passage leads to the statue.
After visiting the island and taking many photos we return to our boat.
This young lady is our youngest grand daughter.
